A Sweet Surprise!

I've always felt that I work with some pretty incredible ladies and they've outdone themselves again. Look what showed up at my doorstep this afternoon from my friends at the Child Care House.

Vlad gives them his seal of approval too!
Thanks again, ladies!

Happy Adoption Day, Luna!

It's hard to believe that one year ago today we happily brought Luna into our home as our first canine addition. She was 3 years old and we are her 3rd family. It took some time for her to adjust in the beginning - she started out being TERRIFIED of the cats, but now she is spoiled rotten and devoted to her mom and dad. She also enjoys snuggling with her brothers.

On the left is a picture of Luna's first day home with us. She fell in love instantly once we broke out the treats.

We've done so much with her in a year. We've taken her to monthly Corgi Meetups at Marymoor. We've been through beginning and advanced obedience, which she desperately needed and we're now enrolled in agility. We've taken her on our first hike in Washington and our first trip to Whidbey Island. She is our little girl. And she's most definitely a momma's girl. She even has the Coach collar to prove it.

Coming Out Party

Believe it or not that is the tile of the Brady Bunch episode where Cindy and her mom have their tonsils out- my first exposure as a child to this procedure. I can still picture them sitting in bed in their fabulously '60's master bedroom while Mr. Brady brought them each a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Ahhhh.

Tomorrow I go in for my own tonsilectomy. I'm sure I won't be all smiles or decked out in pig tails though. In fact, recovery is really supposed to suck for adults but I've got my chocolate ice cream in the freezer and four fuzzballs (3 commies and a corgi) to keep me company. Plus, I'm fully stocked up on reading material. I have sTori Telling, Smashed, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, and Mummy Dearest. Hopefully I can stay awake long enough to read some of them. They gave me some pretty heavy pain killers - ya, you never see Cindy take those either.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Luna was groomed yesterday. She was very excited to be pampered at Scrub-a-Pup. When I made the appointment they asked me what specifically I wanted to have done since I guess Corgi's don't normally need haircuts? I said "She needs her fluffypants trimmed." The groomer: "Her feathers?" "Yes, her fluffypants need to be trimmed, taken off, whatever, they are too long and starting to wrap around her legs like capris!"

She is now without her fluffypants and came home with a pretty St.Patrick's Day - inspried bow too boot. Tonight she will celebrate her first St. Patrick's Day with us complete with cornbeef. She's been sampling the carrots all day!

Luna's Prize

Luna's prize arrived on Thursday night! Matt and I both giggled when we opened the package and found a Reese's shapped dog toy. Luna loves food and we love chocolate (which we never give her) so it was perfect. Luna loves her new toy. We've caught her throwing it up in the air and catching it with her stubs a few times now.

I don't have any pictures of her with it, but I do have a video of her enjoying it the first time. I'll have to upload it later. I've run out of time before bed. Damn daylight savings!

Here is the latest picture of Matt's tattoo. He still has one more session to add in details.

Luna and I entered a contest on this site: http://corgi-express.blogspot.com/and we won the free toy! I'll post pictures as soon as it arrives.
