The Holidays Are Here!

The holiday festivities definitely started this weekend for the Horton family!

On Friday night, I had my work Christmas party. We did a "festive" sweater themed party. We were to wear festive sweaters for a contest. Matt and I went to Ross and found me a doozy of a sweater for only $10! I tied for second place, but only because the winner's sweater had lights in it!

Corgi QUILT on eBay!

*SOLD*
I am selling the Pembroke Welsh Corgi quilt that I bought at the Corgi Picnic in August. I've never used it. I hate to give it up but I am hoping that it will go to a good home where someone will really cherish it. Here is the link on eBay!

I Wants Him

Wouldn't Kentuky make a wonderful commie?

Somehow I think Matt would disagree.

*Sigh*

The best part about Kentuky? He loves to be held like a baby. He'll snuggle in your arms or your lap for some nice, long pets. He definitely shows physical signs of a hard life on the streets but he is such a lover.

If you are interested in adopting Kentuky go to www.paws.org or you can make a donation to PAWS by following this link: http://blba.us/i.asp?id=314438-259477603-2

Viva Las Vegas!

Matt and I recently celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary by revisiting the place where it all took place - Las Vegas, Nevada! This time we stayed at the MGM Grand and it was the best decision we made. They definitely made that hotel/casino large enough that you never have to leave it. It has everything you need right inside. Our favorite part was the 5 swimming pools!

They even had a Lion Habitat at MGM so we could get our kitty fix!

When we walked out of the MGM, we saw New York, New York!

We found a Bettie Page store inside the Miracle Mile Shops.

Me and Clifford sharing my Bacardi Lemonade at FAO Shwartz in Ceasar's Palace.

We were so close to meeting Dick Butkus!

The Excalibur had hot dog and beer deals for $3.50! Matt ate a lot of hot dogs and at one point I had 3 beers sitting in front of me!

This time we made it to the top of the Eiffel Tower Experience!

I'll have to put the rest of my pictures in another post. This one is getting too long.

Keep 'em Coming!

We got another donation! Thanks Sarah for helping support the kitties and puppies at PAWS!

I volunteered yesterday and it was heartbreaking. So many cats and not enough people coming through. We even had one family return a cat. But the good news is one big beautiful black boy named Tahoe got a new family complete with two little kids. He's a complete love bug and soaked up all of their attention. The family instantly fell in love. And Mr. Cheeks, the cat who leaps into your arms and gives hugs, finally found his forever family. I tried to convince Matt to bring him home, but he's right, 3 is enough.

Right now, Trixi is my favorite cat at PAWS. She gets excited every time she sees me and jumps into my arms when I open her cage! She is so sweet and loving. I don't understand why she is still there. She's been at the shelter since May.

How could anyone resist this face?

Way to Go!

I just have to do a quick shout out to my friend DA and my wonderful husband, Matt, who were my first contributors to my PAWSwalk campaign. Your support means everything to Luna and I! Our goal is to raise $500 by September and your contributions put us two steps closer. Thank you!

And thank you, Matt, for making a donation in memory of Nikita.

PAWsWalk 2009!

Luna and I like to participate in the area's animal shelter walks. This year is a new one for us. We'll be walking for the animal shelter that I volunteer at, PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society). Our goal is to raise $500 to help the companion animal shelter. Corgi Cuteness Overload

Here are the pictures from our Corgi Meetup at Edmonds OLA during low-tide.

Luna met her long lost sister, Shadow. Same birthday, same breeder and they even look a little bit alike.

East Meets West

Some of you might already be aware that my parents ventured out here to the West Coast for the first time in 2.5 years last week. Matt and I weren't sure what to expect and it was interesting to say the least. Don't get us wrong, we enjoyed having them around. I think we've both just gotten into the routine of always visiting them in New Hampshire. We haven't had to play hosts for out-of-town guests since our wedding in Las Vegas 2 years ago (2 years on July 28 to be exact).

We did a lot of shopping and driving around. They treated us to some hiking gear at REI and a new Coach purse for me up at the Seattle Premium Outlet Mall. They fell in love with Luna and da boys. In fact, the night my father, Matt and I went to a Mariner's game my mom stayed home and pet sit her furgrandchildren. She said at one point she had Fidel in her lap, Karl up by her head on the couch, Vlad at her feet and Luna on the couch - she was surrounded! They got to see Luna strut her stuff at agility - she rocks the A-frame now and they joined us for a morning at the beach for one of our Corgi meetups. All in all, I think they had lots of fun. I know they LOVED their hotel - the Silver Cloud Inn at Mukilteo. It was right on the water.

Oh, and I got to see my dad for Father's Day for the first time in I don't even know how many years. We went out to Red Robin. My mom took full advantage of the bottomless fries.

Luna is ready for her walk now and I need to get ready for my dad. I didn't get to see my kitties at PAWS last week. I hope there are hardly any there!
